  1.     DCDemo is a demo version of DiskCat 2.3, a disk catalog program for the
  2. Amiga computer.  As a demo, it is limited to catalogging 100 files at a
  3. time and may be freely distributed. 
  4.     DiskCat 2.3 is a commercial and greatly enhanced version of the DiskCat
  5. 1.0 which was originally released for free distribution in August of 1986.
  6. Enhancements found in version 2.3 include:
  7.     1) Faster sorts - version 2.3 sorts 20 to 30 times faster than the old 
  8.        version when sorting by filename or extension first. Sorts by disk
  9.        are virtually intantaneous in version 2.3.
  10.     2) Categories - You can create categories of files and assign files to
  11.        these categories.
  12.     3) Comments - You can create and edit comments concerning each file.
  13.     4) Pattern matching - You can search for and highlight all files which 
  14.        contain contain the same character strings in either their names or
  15.        their comments section.
  16.     5) More effecient use of memory - a catalog requires 50 to 60% of the
  17.        memory in version 2.3 compared to version 1.0.
  18.     6) More flexible display of disks and file information.
  19.     7) More flexible printout of a catalog - design your own table layout.

  30.     As a strong believer in independent user groups, I am proud to announce
  31. the availablility of user group distribution licenses. This license permits
  32. the user group or computer club to reproduce and distribute upto 25 copies
  33. of DiskCat for a cost of $150 ($6/copy). Rights to make additional copies 
  34. beyond the first 25 are available at $5 for each additional copy.
